Resdential Painting and Drawing Art Courses
Drawing and painting in a breathtaking rural setting
Residential art courses from Draw and Paint Online are an enjoyable way to learn how to draw and paint or improve your artistic skills.
Draw and Paint Online’s residential art courses are open to all students on the leisure art courses and City & Guilds art courses.
Set in the heart of the Pennines, the residential art courses are an ideal opportunity for you to meet with fellow artists. Swapping ideas and sharing experiences, can be a valuable way to develop your personal approach to your work and consolidate your learning experience.
Residential art course content
When possible, students will be encouraged to work outside, taking inspiration from one of the most dramatic and beautiful areas of the UK. However, during inclement weather, there will be the facility to work indoors in the studio.
There will be the opportunity to extend your artistic skills with the option of working with a variety of materials including water colours.
Although the area lends itself to landscape drawing and painting, there will also be the opportunity for drawing, still life and figure work.
In fact, the residential art courses are perfect for stretching your abilities as an artist.
Residential art course in a rural Pennines setting
Learn to paint and draw in the beautiful setting of Colden. This small hamlet, set in the heart of the Pennines in the Calder Valley region is an idyllic location for residential art courses.
Located at the edge of the Colden Valley nature reserve on the Pennine Way, Colden is about 2 miles from the picturesque village of Heptonstall and 3 miles from the historical textile town of Hebden Bridge.
Accommodation
River Dean House offers purpose-built accommodation for visitors to the area. Its extensive gardens and beautiful setting provide inspiration and an abundance of places to draw and paint.
Sited next to the River Colden, the complex also has a 2-bedroom cottage available, meaning that non-painting friends and family are welcome to join you on your retreat.
